XTM Engine
XTM is a revolutionary new approach to the problem of how to store and use translation memory(TM). At the heart of XTM is XTM Engine. This module controls the centralised TM and automates many of the traditional processes involved in using it. By using XML with advanced database and web search technology it outperforms traditional translation memory systems, enabling substantial reductions in through put time and translation cost during a typical document life cycle.
What does XTM Engine do?
XTM Engine first converts the original file into XML if necessary, then using standard ITS rules it extracts the text from the document, and segments it into sentences or phrases. Next XTM Engine applies the existing translation memory to provide the translator with in-context exact matching, leveraged matching and fuzzy matching. At any stage of the process XTM Engine provides real-time statistics about the translation and a preview of the translated document as either .pdf or .html. Following translation and review it creates the translated document and stores the new translation memory for use on future projects.
